# Completing the buyer risk assessment

The buyer risk assessment is five short questions about the buyers and the offer. It forms part of your anti-money laundering (AML) obligations.

### Step 1: Create an Offer

When you’re ready to add an offer, open the workspace and select **Create offer**.

### Step 2: Add the buyer details

Enter the details for each buyer as usual.

### Step 3: Answer the risk assessment questions

The **Risk assessment** section sits below the buyer details. Select **Yes** or **No** for each of the five questions.

Your answers cover every buyer on the offer. All five questions need an answer before you can send the payment request.

### Step 4: Complete the offer and send the payment request

Add the conveyancer and offer details, choose how you'd like to request payment, then select **Send payment request**.

### What happens next

Your answers are saved with the offer, along with your name and the date and time.

When your buyers complete their deposit payment, their source of funds declaration is added to the buyer section of the risk assessment.

If you answered **Yes** to any question, the offer and payment request continue as normal. Our compliance team is notified and may contact you to understand a little more.
