# Editing a offer

If an offer is renegotiated after it has been created, you can edit the total offer price, the total deposit amount, or both. This works only where the deposit has not been fully paid.

> **Important:** Editing an offer updates the figures on the offer. It does not send the buyer an updated deposit request. To request a new amount from the buyer, you also need to re-issue the payment request. [See Re-issue a payment request](https://help.trustport.com/re-issue-a-payment-request?hsLang=en-au).

### Before you start

Changing a deposit amount takes two actions, and you need to complete both:

- **Edit the offer** so the total deposit or offer price is correct, so the payments received are reconciled ready for the settlement flow.
- **Re-issue the payment request** so the buyer receives a request for the new amount. [See Re-issue a payment request](https://help.trustport.com/re-issue-a-payment-request?hsLang=en-au)

You can do them in either order. The same applies whether you are re-issuing a full amount or a remaining balance.

 

### Step 1: Select Edit offer

Open the relevant workspace. At the top right of the offer, select the three dots, then select **Edit offer**.

### Step 2: Enter the new amount or amounts

The edit offer form opens. Under **Offer details** at the bottom of the form, update the **Offer price** field, the **Total deposit** field, or both.

Click **Save changes**.

### Step 3: Check the updated offer

The offer now shows the new figures. If you have not already re-issued the payment request for the new deposit amount, do that next. [See Re-issue a payment request](https://help.trustport.com/re-issue-a-payment-request?hsLang=en-au).
